If Auto Invoicing didn't run, it's usually not a system issue. It's typically due to one of the following reasons:
1️⃣ The Customer Has Never Been Run Through the Invoice Generator
For new customers (or customers who have never been invoiced through the Invoice Generator), their first invoice must be reviewed in the Invoice Generator before Auto Invoicing can take over. Holding the first invoice allows you to verify the details and make any necessary adjustments before sending it.
Here’s how it works:
Auto Invoicing will attempt to run.
Customers requiring review will appear in the Auto Invoice email notification sent to the address you've set up for alerts.
Click the "Run Invoice Generator Again" link to go directly to the Invoice Generator to review and finalize those invoices.
Open the held invoice in the Invoice Generator.
Review the details, including amounts and billing periods.
Make any necessary adjustments, such as prorating the first billing period if applicable.
Once satisfied, send the invoice to the customer. After the first invoice is reviewed and sent, future invoices for that customer will be generated and sent automatically on their scheduled dates.
2️⃣ Service Rates Were Updated
If you recently changed service rates, customers must be run through the Invoice Generator after the update.
Auto Invoicing will not apply new rates until they’ve been processed through the generator.
3️⃣ Installed Items Are Present
If customers have installed items attached to their invoice, this will prevent Auto Invoicing from triggering automatically.
4️⃣ Settings Were Changed Too Close to the Run Date
If Auto Invoicing settings were modified shortly before the scheduled run date, the changes may not take effect in time for that billing cycle.
5️⃣ Your Skimmer Subscription Is Past Due
Auto Invoicing will not run if your Skimmer subscription is not current.
Please confirm your subscription is active and up to date.
⏰ Important Timing Note
Auto Invoicing runs late in the evening on the scheduled date.
For example:
If it’s set for 8/1/26, it will typically run around 11:00 PM CST on 8/1/26.
