Manage your integrations in the Integrations Center

The Integrations Center is your home base for every integration Skimmer offers. It holds two kinds of integrations: built-in integrations, which Skimmer builds and maintains, and marketplace integrations, which connect Skimmer to other apps through a guided setup wizard. Both kinds appear together on the same page, so you can connect new integrations, check the status of the ones you already use, add paid integrations to your subscription, and see what's available if you upgrade.

To open the Integrations Center, click Integrations Center on the left navigation menu.

What you can do here

  • View every integration available to your account, sorted into Connected Integrations and Available Integrations.

  • Use the search field to find a specific integration. It matches each card's title, category, and description, and isn't case-sensitive.

  • Check the connection status of any integration you're using.

  • Click Connect or Manage on an integration's card to set it up or open its settings.

  • Add paid integrations to your subscription without leaving Skimmer.

  • Browse integrations available at higher plan tiers, so you know what you'd get with an upgrade. Integrations from a higher tier show Upgrade Required. If an integration isn't offered to your account at all, its card doesn't appear.

Built-in and marketplace integrations

The Integrations Center holds two kinds of integrations. Their cards look the same and sit side by side, but you set them up and manage them differently.

Built-in integrations are built into Skimmer by our team, like QuickBooks Online and Heritage. Each one has its own settings page in Skimmer.

Marketplace integrations are built on Skimmer's integration platform, like Nutshell and FieldPay. They share the same setup wizard and detail page layouts, and many are paid add-ons you can buy right from the Integrations Center. Skimmer adds new marketplace integrations over time, and they show up here automatically.

Add Integration

For an add-on, asks you to add it to your subscription, then starts setup. For a higher-tier integration, contact your Customer Success Manager.

Some cards also have a Learn More link that opens more information about the integration in a new tab.

If an integration isn't available for your account, its card doesn't appear.

Set up a built-in integration

  1. Click Integrations Center on the left navigation menu.

  2. In the Available Integrations section, find the integration and click Connect.

  3. Follow the steps on that integration's settings page.

Add a marketplace integration to your subscription

Some marketplace integrations are paid add-ons. Their cards show Upgrade Required until you add them to your subscription. You can buy the add-on and connect it in one pass.

  1. Click Integrations Center on the left navigation menu.

  2. Find the integration you want. Its card shows Upgrade Required.

  3. Click Add Integration.

  4. In the Add [integration name]? window, review the monthly price.

  5. Click Add Integration to confirm.

Skimmer adds the integration to your subscription and opens the setup wizard right away. Follow the steps in Connect a marketplace integration to finish.

You can also buy an integration add-on from your Payment Method page. When you do, Skimmer takes you to the Integrations Center so you can connect it.

Note: If you add an integration partway through your billing cycle, the charge is prorated and included on your next Skimmer invoice. If you click Cancel instead, nothing changes.

Who can buy add-ons: Only users with the Can view payment method page permission can manage your Skimmer subscription and add an integration this way. If you can't, ask your account owner or an admin. Some integrations come with a higher plan tier instead of an add-on. For those, contact your Customer Success Manager about upgrading.

Connect a marketplace integration

The setup wizard opens inside Skimmer, so you never leave the page. The fields depend on the integration you're connecting.

  1. Click Integrations Center on the left navigation menu.

  2. In the Available Integrations section, find the integration and click Connect.

  3. In the Connect [integration name] window, complete each step of the setup wizard. The steps are listed on the left side of the window.

  4. Click Next to move to the next step, or Previous to go back.

  5. On the last step, click Finish.

The card changes to Connected and moves to Connected Integrations. You don't need to refresh the page.

If you click Cancel or close the window before you finish, the integration stays Available. You can click Connect and start again any time.

Manage a connected marketplace integration

Each connected marketplace integration has its own detail page. The top of the page shows the integration's logo, name, and description, plus a Configure button and a Disconnect button next to the connection status. If the integration has a Help guide, it appears below, so you can learn how to set up and use the integration without leaving Skimmer.

  1. Click Integrations Center on the left navigation menu.

  2. In the Connected Integrations section, find the integration and click Manage.

  3. On the integration's detail page, click Configure.

  4. In the Configure [integration name] window, click Reconfigure.

  5. Step through the setup wizard and update your settings. Your current settings are already filled in.

  6. On the last step, click Finish.

If you close the wizard without saving, your existing settings stay the same.

Upgrade to a newer version

When a newer version of an integration is available, an Upgrade button appears on its detail page. If you don't see the button, you're already on the latest version.

  1. On the integration's detail page, click Upgrade.

  2. If the new version needs information your current version doesn't have, the setup wizard opens with your existing settings already filled in. Add the new information and click Finish.

Skimmer moves your integration to the newer version and keeps it running. If you cancel the wizard, your current version keeps working, and you can upgrade later.

Disconnect an integration

Disconnecting turns the integration off. Skimmer saves your settings, so you can reconnect later without starting over.

Important: Disconnecting a paid add-on doesn't remove it from your monthly Skimmer invoice. To stop paying for it, go to the Payment Method page and remove the add-on from your account. The confirmation window includes a link to manage your add-ons.

  1. On the integration's detail page, click Disconnect.

  2. In the Disconnect [integration name]? window, click Disconnect to confirm.

Skimmer returns you to the Integrations Center, where the card now shows Available.

Manage your API keys

Tier: Enterprise
Permissions: Can view the Integrations Center

Enterprise accounts can create and manage their own public API keys from the Integrations Center. You no longer need to request a key from Skimmer Support.

Create an API key

You can create and name multiple keys, which is useful if you're connecting more than one system. It's good security practice to use a separate key for each application you connect, rather than reusing the same one everywhere. That way, if you ever need to cut off access for one connection, for example, if a contract with a developer or vendor ends, you can revoke just that key without disrupting anything else.

  1. Click Integrations Center on the left navigation menu.

  2. Click the API Keys tab.

  3. Click the Generate Key button.

  4. In the Generate API Key window, enter a name for the key so you can identify it later.

  5. Click the Generate button to create the key and return to the API Keys tab.

  6. From the API Keys tab, click the eye icon to the right of the key to view it.

  7. Click the copy icon to copy it to your clipboard.

Revoke an API key

Select the Revoke option next to a key to disable it. Once you revoke a key, anything using it loses access to Skimmer, so update your integration with a new key first if you still need the connection.

Manage your webhooks

Tier: Enterprise
Permissions: Can view the Integrations Center

Webhooks send you live updates the moment something happens in Skimmer, so your other systems don't have to keep checking for changes. Manage them from the Webhooks tab on the Integrations Center page.

What you can build with webhooks

Webhooks work well for anything that needs real-time data, like:

  • Triggering a review request as soon as a stop wraps up

  • Keeping an inventory system in sync as items get requested, loaded, and installed

  • Sending invoice and payment updates to your accounting software the moment they happen

  • Feeding a custom dashboard or reporting tool with live status updates

  • Syncing work orders with a project management tool as they're created, scheduled, and finished

Events you can subscribe to

  • Service stop finished

  • Work order finished

  • Invoice created

  • Invoice status update (coming soon)

  • Payment added

  • Payment refunded

  • Customer created

  • Customer status change (coming soon)

  • Customer suspended

Every webhook includes the event type and the time the event happened, so your connected tools know exactly what they received.

Access webhook management

  1. Click Integrations Center on the left navigation menu.

  2. Click the Webhooks tab.

  3. Click the Open Webhooks Portal button to access Skimmer's webhook management tool.

Tools in the Webhooks Portal

  • Svix Help: click the Help icon for more information on working with webhooks.

  • Endpoints: set up an endpoint with the URL you want webhook events sent to.

  • Event catalog: look up any event to see its definition and the payload you can expect from it.

  • Logs: see what's been sent from your webhooks, so you can confirm they're firing as expected.

Tips & tricks

  • Unfinished setup - Closing a marketplace integration's wizard early doesn't count as connected. The card stays Available until you click Finish.

  • Your settings are saved - Disconnecting a marketplace integration keeps its configuration, so reconnecting is quick.

  • Billing - Add-on integrations appear as a monthly charge on your Skimmer invoice. Removing the add-on, not disconnecting, is what stops the charge.

  • Integration-specific help - Each integration has its own setup fields and sync behavior. See the Help article for that integration for details.

FAQ

How can I tell if an integration is built-in or from the marketplace?

Click Manage on a connected integration. A marketplace integration opens a detail page with Configure and Disconnect buttons. A built-in integration opens its own settings page.

Do I need to contact Skimmer to buy an add-on integration?

Not if you can manage your Skimmer subscription. Click Add Integration on a card with an Upgrade Required status, then click Add Integration again in the confirmation window. If you can't manage your subscription, ask your account owner or an admin. If the integration needs a higher plan tier, contact your Customer Success Manager.

Does the setup wizard take me to another website?

No. The marketplace setup wizard opens inside Skimmer.

If I disconnect an integration, will my invoice change?

No. Disconnecting turns the integration off but keeps the add-on on your subscription. To stop the charge, go to the Payment Method page and remove the add-on from your account.

Why don't I see an Upgrade button?

You're already on the latest version of that integration. On a connected integration's detail page, the Upgrade button only appears when a newer version is available.

Why don't I see a specific integration?

Some integrations are only available to certain accounts. If you expect to see an integration and don't, contact Skimmer Support.
