Most pool businesses invoice everyone on one company-wide date. It works, until it doesn't: an HOA needs the 1st, your commercial accounts want the 15th, your residential route bills end-of-month.
Auto Invoicing by Customer Date lets you set an individual invoicing day per customer, and Skimmer bills each one on the right day automatically. No manual runs, no sending invoices one at a time.
Start Here: Why This Matters (& why it's safe to switch)
A quick walkthrough of what this feature does, who it's for, and how to roll it out without disrupting what you already have.
Already using auto invoicing on a single date? Nothing turns off. This sits on top of what you have. Your company default keeps running exactly like it does today, and every customer without a custom date stays on it, just like before.
You only add specific dates to the customers who need one. So you never have to move everyone at once: pick the group with the clearest need (often HOAs or commercial accounts), set their date, watch the first run, and add more groups whenever you're ready.
Set It Up: Interactive Walkthrough
Walk through the setup at your own pace. The demo covers setting a date on a single customer, reading the preview that shows exactly what will be billed, and moving a whole group at once with the bulk tool. To set a custom invoice date for a customer:
Open the customer’s profile in Skimmer.
Navigate to the Billing section and click "Edit."
Select "Invoice Date" and choose the desired date.
To bill at the end of the month, select "Last." Skimmer will automatically use the correct last day of each month for invoicing.
The one real gotcha: avoid changing a customer's invoice date more than once in the same month. You won't double-bill anyone, Skimmer protects against that, but it's possible some charges won't get picked up. Set it once and let it run. Additionally, use the billing-period chart under settings to verify that the invoice generation date aligns with your intended schedule and to avoid any "Past Due" messages on the due date.
