Gross / Fees / Net Don’t Match Inside a Payout ID

Explains why the Gross, Fees, and Net totals on the main Payouts page may not always match the transaction totals inside a specific Payout ID.

What You Might Notice

The Gross, Fees, and Net totals on the main Payouts page don’t match the totals shown when you click into a specific Payout ID.

What’s Going On

There are two layers here:

1️⃣ The Overview Page

  • The Net amount here should match exactly what was deposited into your bank account.

  • These totals also align with what Stripe reports for that payout.

2️⃣ Inside the Payout ID

When you click into a specific payout:

  • You’ll see a list of payments and refunds Stripe associates with that payout.

  • Stripe estimates which payments belong to each payout.

  • Occasionally, Stripe may associate a payment differently than expected.

Because of that, the sum of the individual transactions may not perfectly equal the overall payout total.

A Few Additional Notes

  • Chargebacks are not included in this report.

  • Payments with successful disputes may still appear and cause mismatches.

  • Stripe sends the total payout amount separately from individual payment/refund details.
