If you’re seeing two monthly service line items in the invoice generator and wondering if something broke — good news: it didn’t. The system is simply making sure no billable service gets missed.
Here’s what’s going on and how to handle it.
❓ Why are two service lines showing?
Duplicate service lines typically appear when the date range selected in the invoice generator spans two different months.
For example:
If your billing period is 01/01/2026 – 02/01/2026, the system can’t determine which single monthly service you intend to bill (this most commonly happens during a first billing cycle or when adding new customers).
To prevent missed revenue, the system automatically includes all unbilled monthly services that fall within that timeframe.
❓ How do I remove the extra service line?
Simply use the “Don’t invoice” checkbox on the line item you don’t want included.
👉 Only billing for January?
Check “Don’t invoice” on the line showing February dates.
👉 Billing ahead for February?
Check “Don’t invoice” on the line showing January dates.
❓ Will this keep happening?
You’ll need to review and adjust this for:
First billing cycles
Newly added customers
Any billing window that overlaps two months
After that, invoices will typically generate with one monthly service line at a time.
